The ancient city of Myra and its harbor, Andriake, are located in the district of Demre, Antalya. Archaeological excavations have been conducted since 2009 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Nevzat Çevik on behalf of Akdeniz University and with the authorization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye.

Among the most prominent monuments of Myra are its Roman-period theatre, the rock-cut tombs of the Classical Period, and the acropolis, all of which attract considerable interest from visitors. Excavations and archaeological research have demonstrated that much of the ancient urban settlement has been preserved beneath approximately nine meters of alluvial deposits.

Andriake, which experienced its most intensive phase of urban development during the reign of Emperor Hadrian and served as one of the most important harbors of the Mediterranean, contains several outstanding structures, including the Granarium, originally used as a grain storehouse in antiquity, the Plakoma/Agora, the Synagogue, baths, and churches. Today, the Granarium serves as the Museum of Lycian Civilizations.
